Venture out of Amsterdam for the day and visit the beautiful landscape of the areas outside the city. You’ll be picked up from your hotel in Amsterdam to begin the journey to Zaanse Schans.

The stop will be in Zaanse Schans with the characteristic village of windmills, there the group will visit a clog-maker and will see the demonstration of the realization, then will taste and discover the cheese factory where cheese is still made in the traditional way.

This area used to be an industrial area where many windmills were used for many different purposes. Only a few windmills survived and are restored to their original function. There is an oil mill, a paint mill and a spice mill. Besides the windmills, the Zaanse Schans is full of traditional green-timbered houses and warehouses.

On a 20 minute drive from Amsterdam we start our experience in Waterland. Get out and walk through the old streets, taste a wine in a wine farm or visit one of the restaurants along the way (tea garden, local food farm). 

This boat tour will take you through the beautiful landscape of Waterland. You will see moorland meadows, “Piet land”, old Dutch farms, marchlands and picturesque villages for which the area is known. This area is famous for it’s old villages, local food, cheese and traditions.
